Los Remedios neighbourhood
Sound for parties and events in Los Remedios
A neighbourhood of straight streets and tall buildings where almost everything is set up indoors: residents' function rooms, penthouses and venues. And, in April, with the Feria grounds right next door.

How we set up here
A planned neighbourhood, and you notice it when unloading
Los Remedios was laid out in one go, with regular blocks, wide streets and high-rise buildings. For a set-up that means good pavements and lifts, but also impossible parking.
Unlike the medieval layout of Triana, here the streets are straight and the buildings have wide entrances, lifts and, in many cases, a garage. The equipment goes up without any fuss. The problem is something else: finding somewhere to stop the van for the time it takes to unload, especially around Avenida de la República Argentina, Virgen de Luján and Plaza de Cuba, where traffic is constant and double parking is not an option. When the event is in the evening, we set up before the rush hour.
Residents' function rooms, penthouses and venues
Many of the neighbourhood's parties are held in the buildings' own communal spaces or in penthouses with terraces. Residents' function rooms are usually rectangular, with low ceilings and hard surfaces, so the sound saturates quickly: two well-aimed medium-sized speakers perform better than a large system. In penthouses, the key is the neighbours. A terrace set-up in the early evening can work without disturbing anyone; the same set-up two hours later cannot. We always plan it with an agreed finishing time and with the bass kept in check, because that is what travels through the building's structure.
April changes the rules
The Feria grounds (the Real) border the neighbourhood, so during the weeks of set-up, the Seville April Fair (Feria de Abril) itself and take-down, traffic, parking and access change completely. If your event falls on those dates, the set-up time has to be fixed with more leeway than usual. For casetas (fair marquees) we work to their own timetable, explained in our guide to sound for a caseta.

What gets celebrated
Birthdays, debutante balls and lots of indoor events
It is a residential neighbourhood with people of all ages, and that translates into family celebrations and house parties rather than large set-ups.
What we are asked for most are private parties and birthdays in function rooms, venues and penthouses, with a full DJ set-up, a couple of speakers and some mood lighting. Close behind come puestas de largo (debutante balls), which aim to turn an ordinary function room into something close to a nightclub: there, the difference comes from the lighting (LED bars, a couple of effects and control of the general lights) rather than from more power.
There are also quite a few small corporate events, presentations and association meetings in local venues, where what matters is that speech is clearly heard: a handheld wireless microphone, a speaker on each side and, if there is projection, a screen and projector. And in spring, besides the Feria, the preparations for weddings and celebrations held elsewhere but organised from here.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions in Los Remedios
Can I hold a party in my building's function room?
That depends on your residents' association rules, not on us. If it is allowed, the set-up is simple: in through the entrance, up in the lift and an hour's work. It is a good idea to let the neighbours know the timings and agree when the volume will go down.
My event is during the Feria. Can you get there?
Yes, but with the set-up time confirmed in advance. During those weeks access around the Feria grounds changes and some stretches are closed, so we allow more leeway and, if necessary, set up the day before.
How much noise reaches the flats below from a penthouse?
More than you might think, especially the low frequencies, which travel through the structure. That is why we only recommend a subwoofer when the space allows it, and always with the level limited. It is the difference between a party that ends well and a visit from the local police.
A party in Los Remedios, without complaints from the neighbours
Tell us about the space and the finishing time. We set up the system so it sounds great inside and is barely noticeable outside.
