Sound for casetas and events at the Feria

The Feria is a demanding environment for sound

Crowds, constant background noise, music all night and specific moments when the voice simply has to be understood: announcements, introductions, toasts and performances. A home sound system lasts half an hour; after that it clips, overheats and you hear distortion.

If you have a caseta or you're organising a party, a company lunch, a live performance or a DJ set inside the fairground (the Real), we'll set up a system tailored to the size of the space, the capacity and the type of music. The goal is easy to state and hard to achieve without know-how: it should sound just as good at the bar as at the back, and the voice shouldn't get lost when the caseta is packed.

What a caseta sound system needs to handle

  • Music with punch: sevillanas, rumbas, flamenco pop, playlists and DJs.
  • Clear, intelligible speech, with microphones set up for talking, not singing.
  • Even coverage inside the caseta and in the outdoor area, with no spot that booms and no spot the sound doesn't reach.
  • A tidy, safe installation, with professional cabling neatly run and settings that won't drift out of place on their own.

How the week runs, day by day

Set-up takes place before the alumbrao, once the caseta is decorated and the paper lanterns are up, because after that there's no getting in with equipment. From then on the caseta runs itself: midday music at conversation level, turned up in the afternoon, peak time at night and the odd announcement. Anything that breaks usually breaks on the second or third day, when the equipment has been working flat out for hours on end – which is why sizing matters: a system with headroom, running at 60 %, lasts the week; one that's only just big enough doesn't.

Removal happens when the fairground (the Real) closes, with the same access coordination as the set-up. We also work with district casetas, company casetas and brotherhood (hermandad) casetas, which have their own vehicle access times.

What we rent out for the Feria

Professional equipment for caseta set-ups

Speakers and PA

  • Active (powered) speakers for background music and events.
  • PA systems for medium and large casetas, spread across several points rather than concentrated in one.
  • Subwoofers and bass bins to reinforce the low end for music and DJ sets.
  • Monitors for live performances and on-stage monitoring.

Mixing consoles and control

  • Analogue and digital mixing consoles, depending on what's needed.
  • Connections ready for DJs, phones, laptops and players.
  • Audio processing, EQ and level control to improve the sound and stop anyone cranking it up until it blows.

Microphones

Essential accessories

  • Professional cabling (XLR, Speakon, TRS), multicores and adaptors.
  • Speaker stands and mic stands.
  • Power strips, extension leads and a well-organised installation, so there are no cables across walkways.

If you're not sure where to start, the usual starting point is a basic sound system, scaling up from there.

Caseta packs

Sound packs tailored to size and use

To give you an idea, these are the most common set-ups at the Feria. We always adjust them to the actual space and to what you need.

  • Speaker for background music in a Feria caseta

    Pack 01

    Small caseta (background music)

For casetas with constant music at a controlled volume. Speakers for background music, quick connection for a phone or laptop, stands, cabling, set-up and basic tuning.

  • Mixing desk for a Feria caseta

    Pack 02

    Medium caseta (music + speech)

If, as well as music, you need speech to be clearly understood: a speaker system with even coverage, mixing desk, one or two microphones, full cabling and configuration.

  • DJ booth set up in a Feria caseta

    Pack 03

    Large caseta (party / DJ)

Higher capacity and more energy in the music: a more powerful PA with wider coverage, subwoofers for punch, mixing desk, optional wireless microphones, set-up, tuning and usage advice.

  • Live performance inside a caseta

    Pack 04

    Live performance

If you have a band, singer or performance inside the caseta: PA plus monitors, a desk with the channels you need, microphones to suit the line-up, a sound check and optional technical support.

Installation and support

At the Feria, “just plug it in” doesn't cut it

For great sound with no nasty surprises, the set-up is done with know-how. Depending on the pack, the service includes:

Positioning designed to avoid dead spots

We decide where each speaker goes based on the shape of the caseta, where the bar is and where people come in. Spreading the sound out beats turning it up.

EQ for clarity, not noise

Settings designed so the voice stands out over the music, and so twelve hours of sound don't end up wearing anyone out.

Level and distortion control

The system is left with a fixed safety margin so it won't clip even if someone turns the knob all the way up at three in the morning.

Secured, tidy cabling

Safety and looks: no cables crossing walkways and no power strips dangling from the canvas.

Technical support when it's needed

Depending on the pack, you can have a sound technician for performances or for the big nights.

Removal when the Real closes

Everything is dismantled and taken away. You don't carry a thing or have to store equipment in the caseta.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about sound at the Feria

What equipment do I need for a caseta at the Seville April Fair?

It depends on the size of the caseta, whether there's an outdoor area and the type of music (background, DJ or live). The usual set-up is a suitable speaker system plus a mixing desk, and if there are introductions or entertainment, at least one microphone.

Do you recommend subwoofers for the Feria?

Yes, if you want music with more body, especially for DJs or casetas with a larger capacity. Subwoofers add punch without having to push the volume aggressively – which is exactly what prevents complaints and distortion.

Do you include set-up and installation?

Yes. We can include delivery, set-up, configuration and removal, plus technical support if there's a performance or a key event inside the caseta.

Can I easily connect a phone or laptop?

Yes. We leave the system ready for the usual connections (phone, laptop, DJ) and explain the basics, so it's easy to use and anyone in the caseta can switch it on and off without messing up the settings.

Do you also rent out wireless microphones?

Yes. Wireless microphones are really handy for casetas with entertainers, introductions or events where you need to move between the tables.

Do you rent by the day or for the whole Feria?

We offer rental by the day, by the weekend or for complete periods, depending on availability and the needs of the set-up. For the whole week it's best to book well in advance.
