Where it's set up and what changes
Every part of a house sounds different
Private parties are set up in places that were never designed for sound: a lawned garden, a rooftop with echo from the light well, a porch or the edge of a pool. Choosing where to put the equipment matters more than power.
Gardens and plots
Outdoors, with no walls, sound fades quickly. Two well-placed speakers cover a dance floor, but if the party is spread between the pool and the tables, you need two independent points. Grass and soil soak up the bass, so a subwoofer on firm ground makes a big difference.
Rooftops and terraces
This is where most care is needed. Sound from a rooftop rises and travels: it reaches flats two blocks away. The solution is to lower the overall volume and bring the speakers closer to the guests, pointing into the terrace and never towards the railing. You also need to check how the gear gets up there: if there's no lift, we suggest a compact system rather than a large one.
Pool
Water and electricity don't mix. The equipment is placed well away from the edge, with cabling tidied away from wet areas, and protected from splashes. If it's a proper pool party, with people getting in and out, battery-powered equipment placed up high is the better choice.
Indoors
A living room with hard surfaces booms. A small system at medium volume is usually enough, plus some coloured lighting, which changes the atmosphere more than an extra ten decibels.
Neighbours and volume
How to party without the Local Police turning up at the door
Place speakers close, don't play loud
The tried-and-tested trick: moving the speakers closer to the dance floor lets you lower the overall level by several decibels while it sounds just as good inside.
It's the bass that travels
What bothers the neighbours at two in the morning isn't the treble, it's the bass. We tune the subwoofer to give body inside without booming out into the street.
Set a ceiling and leave it
We leave the system limited to an agreed level. That way nobody cranks it all the way up late in the night, which is when the trouble starts.
Set a finishing time and stick to it
That's what prevents most complaints. On city terraces and rooftops even more so: there are quiet hours worth knowing about, and we go through them in this guide.
Let the neighbours know beforehand
It's not a technical measure, but it works better than any other.
End it properly
The music is brought down gradually over the last half hour, rather than cutting off suddenly at full volume.
What people usually rent
The typical set-up for a house party
A mid-sized system, some lighting and a DJ booth cover the vast majority of private parties in Seville and the Aljarafe.

If the party has a specific occasion
For a birthday with guests of all ages, see sound for birthday parties. If it's an eighteenth with a nightclub vibe, the set-up is the same as for a puesta de largo (debutante ball). And if what you want is to sing, karaoke.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Can you set up and collect on the same day?
Yes. For private parties we usually set up in the afternoon and collect when it ends. If the party finishes very late, we can also collect the next morning, provided the space is enclosed and the equipment is secure.
Is it a problem if there's only a standard socket?
For a private party set-up, a domestic socket in good condition is usually enough, as long as the kitchen and air conditioning aren't on the same circuit. If in doubt, we bring an extension cable and split the load across two different circuits.
Do you provide a DJ or just the equipment?
We rent out the equipment and the DJ booth. If you already have a DJ, we agree with them what they'll bring. If you're looking for one, this guide helps: how to choose the perfect DJ.
Can I rent just for a few hours?
Rental is charged per day, even if the party lasts four hours. What changes with the duration is whether a technician needs to be present.
My rooftop is on the fourth floor with no lift. Is that a problem?
No, but it determines the equipment. We go for a compact, lightweight system rather than large cabinets. Let us know when you request a quote so we bring the right gear.
