How we set up here
Office buildings: lots of logistics, very little noise
Nervión is home to company headquarters, professional offices, clinics, business hotels and retail space. Hardly any set-up happens with the doors wide open: it is done indoors and on a strict timetable.
Most buildings in the area have a car park or loading bay, which is an advantage until you measure the height. Many ramps have a two-metre height limit and a high-roof van will not fit: we have to unload up at street level and bring the equipment down in the goods lift. Asking beforehand saves losing an hour on the day. The same goes for the service lift: if it has to be booked with the building's concierge, we book it days in advance.
Setting up without disturbing people at work
Corporate events are usually held in rooms that are in use until shortly beforehand. We plan the set-up in stages: cabling and structure first, then sound checks and, where possible, a full-level test before the audience arrives or in an agreed slot. We work with pre-built racks and labelled cabling to cut down the time spent inside the room.
Long rooms, low ceilings and carpet
Meeting rooms in the area tend to be rectangular, with low ceilings and carpet. The carpet helps; the low ceiling does not: speech fades towards the back and speakers mounted high bounce off the ceiling slab. The usual solution is not more power but distributed reinforcement —two small points instead of one large one— and the right microphones: headset or lavalier for presenters who move around, wireless handhelds for audience questions, and table microphones when there is a panel. If there is a presentation, visuals are handled with a projector and screen or with monitors, depending on how much light comes in.
Match days
The stadium sits right in the neighbourhood, so on some afternoons traffic and parking across the whole area change for several hours. If your event coincides with a match, we adjust our arrival time.

What gets celebrated
Presentations, conferences and seated-audience events
Here sound is judged on one thing alone: whether what is said can be understood effortlessly from the back row.
The most common bookings are corporate conferences and presentations, press conferences, board meetings, training sessions and events for professional bodies and trade associations. They all share the same core package: speech reinforcement, visuals and someone looking after the sound throughout the session. When speakers join remotely or the content needs to be recorded, we add streaming or live video production.
The neighbourhood's hotels also host company dinners and award ceremonies, which combine speeches with music and some lighting. And there is a share of retail events —product launches and brand activations in shopping areas— where the challenge is the opposite: sounding just loud enough for your own audience without intruding on the business next door.

Frequently asked questions
Questions from office event organisers
Can you set up outside office hours?
Yes. That is the norm: set-up first thing in the morning, at the end of the working day or the day before, depending on what the building allows. We just need to know who will let us in and how late we can stay.
How many microphones does a panel discussion need?
As a guide, one for every two participants if they are table microphones and people are seated together, plus a handheld or lavalier for the moderator. If there is a Q and A session, add at least one wireless microphone for the audience.
Our room already has a sound system. Will it do?
Sometimes for speech, almost never for music or video. We can check it beforehand and bring only what is missing: microphones, a mixing desk, a player or the audio link into the room's system.
Can the event be recorded or streamed?
Yes. With one or more cameras and vision and sound mixing, as we explain in live video production. It is best decided before set-up, as it changes where cameras and microphones go.
