Olive-grove Aljarafe

Sound for weddings and events in Espartinas

Olive groves and country estates, with housing estates scattered around the town centre. Here the typical set-up is not a function hall: it is an estate with a garden and no power socket nearby.

How we set up here

Country estates, olive groves and separate housing estates

Espartinas is an Aljarafe town surrounded by olive groves, with a small traditional centre and several housing estates and residential areas spread across the municipality.

That spread means the address needs to be very precise: the difference between the town centre and an estate on the outskirts can be several kilometres of minor roads and tracks. When the event is on an estate, we always ask three questions: what the access is like (whether it is a dirt track, whether it can take a loaded vehicle, whether there is room to manoeuvre), where the electrical panel is and how much power it provides, and what time we can start setting up without getting in the way of the catering preparations.

Outdoor celebrations in several stages

A wedding or large celebration on an estate is not one installation but three: the ceremony at one spot in the garden, the cocktail hour at another and the dancing at a third, often tens of metres apart. Each needs its own equipment and cabling, and everything must be set up before the first guest arrives, because after that you can no longer run cables through the middle. We use independent systems for the ceremony and cocktail hour and a main system for the dancing.

Power: almost always the key

Many estates have a distribution board, but few have enough power for sound, lighting, catering and decorative lighting all at once. It is far better to work out the real power draw and decide in advance whether a generator is needed, rather than finding out when the breaker trips in the middle of the dancing. We explain how to decide in our guide to generators for events.

What gets celebrated

Weddings, celebrations and town events

The area is home to many of the haciendas and celebration estates around Seville, and that shapes the kind of work we do here.

Weddings are our main booking, with everything they involve: discreet microphones for the ceremony, background music for the drinks reception, a sound system with real punch for the dancing and decorative lighting that transforms the garden as night falls. After those come First Communion parties in May, anniversaries and company celebrations at estates, which follow the same pattern on a smaller scale.

On top of that, the town has its own calendar of festivities, with street events and events at the fairground that are set up with stage platforms and an outdoor sound system, plus cultural activities throughout the year that need simpler equipment.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about events at estates

Do you visit the estate before the event?

For weddings and large set-ups, yes, or at the very least we ask for photos and a rough plan showing the distances between areas. That is what lets us work out cabling, power points and set-up times without improvising.

The estate says it has enough power. Can we trust that?

We prefer to check. Often the supply is fine for the estate in normal use, but not for sound, lighting and catering at the same time. We look at the contracted power and how the circuits are split, and if it doesn't add up we suggest a generator.

Can we have music until very late at an estate?

It depends on the venue's licence and how close it is to homes. Many estates have their own authorised hours and a sound limiter installed. We adapt to whatever the venue requires.

How long does it take to set up a full wedding?

With three areas (ceremony, drinks reception and dancing) plus lighting, it is sensible to allow a good part of the day, starting in the morning. We never leave the set-up until the hours just before the guests arrive.
