How we set up here
A cramped old town and a vast municipality
Utrera has a dense historic centre, with narrow streets and listed buildings, surrounded by a very large municipality of countryside with cortijos (country farmhouses), dehesas and livestock estates.
In the centre, the set-up is planned as in any historic quarter: a fixed time, a quick unload and equipment that fits through old doorways. There are pedestrianised stretches and streets where two vehicles cannot pass, so giving us the exact address saves time. In the rest of the municipality, on the other hand, the issue is distance: an estate can be fifteen or twenty kilometres from town along a secondary road, and that has to be factored into the travel.
Sound for flamenco singing and acoustic live performances
Utrera is a heartland of flamenco singing (cante), and part of what we are asked for is linked to that. Amplifying cante and guitar is not about bringing a big rig: it is about choosing microphones that respect the tone, placing the monitor so the performer can hear themselves without feedback, and working at a level that doesn't turn the voice into a PA announcement. In courtyards and rooms with hard surfaces the balance is even more delicate.
Estates, livestock and countryside events
The rural surroundings bring a different kind of booking: celebrations at cortijos, livestock events and outdoor activities. There we are back to the usual open-country essentials: access by dirt track, firm ground for the structure and a generator, because the available power almost never covers a full set-up. We add dust protection and, in summer, shade for the control position.

What gets celebrated
Major festivities, flamenco and celebrations at estates
It is a town with a very strong festive calendar of its own and a lively music scene all year round.
The town festivities bring sizeable outdoor set-ups: a stage, a sound system sized to the venue, monitoring for bands and live-show lighting. When acts come with a technical rider, we review the document and agree what each party provides before the date.
Throughout the year there are flamenco performances, cultural events and family celebrations in halls and courtyards, plus a significant number of weddings and First Communion parties, many at estates and haciendas in the area. Equestrian and livestock events are also held, where the sound is mainly a PA system spread over a large space, with clear announcements and background music.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions in Utrera
How much does travel to Utrera cost?
It is calculated by distance and by the number of trips the set-up requires. Equipment that fits in a single trip costs less than a stage with sound and lighting, which may need two. It is always itemised in the quote.
We want a flamenco singing recital. What equipment do we need?
For a medium-sized room, two small speakers, a couple of well-chosen microphones and a monitor. The key is the set-up, not the power: a big system at low volume sounds worse than a small one that is well placed.
Can you set up at an estate on the outskirts?
Yes. We need the exact location, what the access track is like and what power is available. If the estate is far from the town, the travel fee is based on the actual distance, not the distance to the town.
Do you work with the town council or with religious brotherhoods (hermandades)?
Yes. We prepare quotes with the breakdown they usually need for their paperwork, and we can provide the technical documentation for the equipment.
Shall we set up in Utrera?
Tell us the date, the space and whether there will be live performance. We will prepare your quote with a fixed travel fee.
