Aljarafe escarpment
Sound for events in San Juan de Aznalfarache
A town split across two levels: the lower part beside the Guadalquivir and the upper part on the hill. The difference in height between them decides how each event is set up.

How we set up here
The slope is the first thing to tell us
San Juan rises over the escarpment overlooking the river: the lower part sits by the riverbank and the bridges, while the upper part is on top of the hill, with views over the whole valley.
There is a significant drop between the two, bridged by sloping streets. That affects an installation in three ways: a loaded vehicle cannot always manoeuvre easily, moving equipment uphill by trolley takes more crew, and in the upper part the wind is more constant, which matters whenever a structure or screen goes up. None of this is an obstacle if we know beforehand; the problem is finding out on arrival.
The lower town and the riverfront
By the riverbank there are open spaces, a promenade and areas where outdoor events are held. As everywhere along the Guadalquivir, sound travels far over the water, so the level is set with an eye to what can be heard in the distance, not just in front of the stage. Being close to the bridges also makes access from Seville extremely quick.
Venues, halls and communal areas
The town is densely built, with apartment blocks and commercial premises, so many celebrations take place in hired halls, social clubs and communal areas. The usual constraint is the neighbours: in residential buildings the bass travels through floors easily, and keeping it in check from the start avoids trouble halfway through the party. When the venue has a licence and a sound limiter, we choose equipment that works below the threshold.

What gets celebrated
Neighbourhood festivals, family celebrations and municipal events
It is an urban town, very densely populated for its size, with an active community life and its own festive calendar.
Throughout the year there are cultural events, association activities and family celebrations in halls and venues, where a basic system with a wireless microphone and music works well. Spring and summer bring the May Crosses, the evening festivals and the town's fiestas, set up in the street or at the fairground with a stage platform, outdoor sound system and lighting.
We also get plenty of bookings for birthdays and private parties with a DJ booth. And, being so close to Seville and the rest of the Aljarafe, many weddings and First Communions held at nearby estates are booked from here.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions in San Juan
I live in the upper town and the street is very steep. Is that a problem?
No, but it changes the set-up. We need to know so we can bring an extra person and adjust the type of equipment: on a steep slope we prefer smaller, spread-out units rather than two huge speakers.
Can you set up in a venue with neighbours living above?
Yes, by taking care of the bass, which is what travels through the structure. The subwoofer is placed away from the walls with its level limited, and a time is agreed for turning the volume down. That is how the party makes it to the end.
How long does it take you to get there from Seville?
Hardly any time: we cross the bridge and we are there. It is one of the easiest places to fit the set-up time around whatever you need.
Shall we set up in San Juan de Aznalfarache?
Tell us whether it is in the upper or lower town and what kind of venue it is. We will confirm the equipment and schedule.
