Sevilla Este
Sound systems for events in Sevilla Este
The easiest part of the city to set up in: wide avenues, large squares and parking right next to the stage. What needs calculating here is the power supply.

How we set up here
Plenty of room to unload, and big spaces to fill
Sevilla Este was built along modern lines: large blocks, multi-lane avenues, inner squares, parks and public facilities. That makes logistics simpler and acoustics harder.
Here there is no need to measure doorways or count metres of trolley run: in most cases the vehicle can drive right up to the set-up point. The advantage really shows when the event needs structure —a stage platform, a modular stage or truss— because the heavy gear is unloaded exactly where it is assembled, with no narrow alleys to get through.
Outdoor events need more system than people think
In an open square there are no walls to bounce the sound back: everything that leaves the speakers is gone. For the same number of guests you need considerably more system than in a hall, and it is better to split it across two points than to turn one up. When the audience stretches out lengthways, delayed fill speakers are added. It is a simple calculation if you know the expected attendance and the shape of the space; we explain it in our guide to how much power you need.
Power: the critical point
Squares and parks do not always have a usable socket. A street-lighting panel cannot be used without authorisation and often cannot deliver the power needed anyway. If the event involves sound, lighting and a stage, the sensible option is a generator sized to the actual load, with proper distribution and protection. We calculate it ourselves from the equipment list; the method is set out in our article on generators for events.

What gets celebrated
Neighbourhood parties, schools and sport
It is a young district, with many schools, residents' associations and sports facilities, and that shapes its calendar of events.
Spring and summer bring most of the neighbourhood parties and open-air evenings, usually set up with a small stage, outdoor sound and lighting. June brings school and college graduations, which call for a clear PA system, a lectern, a wireless microphone and background music, often in the school courtyard under full sun, which means the equipment has to be protected.
All year round there are sporting events —fun runs, tournaments, trophy presentations— where what matters is PA coverage spread along the course or across the pitch, more than musical quality. Indoors, there is plenty of activity at civic centres and associations: talks, performances and gatherings that need a basic system, properly tuned.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about outdoor events
Do I need a generator for a party in a square?
Almost always, unless the council provides a supply connection with enough capacity. A sound system with lighting and a stage easily exceeds what a domestic socket can deliver, and losing power halfway through an event is the hardest failure to fix on the fly.
How long does it take to set up a small stage with sound and lighting?
A full morning is a realistic estimate for a modular stage with PA and lighting. If the event is in the afternoon, we set up in the morning; if it is in the morning, we set up the day before, provided the space can be kept under supervision.
And what if it rains?
It is decided beforehand, not on the day. Electrical equipment is never set up exposed: either there is a covered stage and protection for the control position, or everything moves to an indoor space. It is worth having plan B in writing.
Can you set up in a school with access through the playground?
Yes. We usually ask for the vehicle gate to be opened so we can unload, and then we work inside the grounds. If the event is during school hours, we set up before the pupils arrive.
